Children:
Dysport is a drug that is used to relieve muscle spasms in the legs and improve walking in children with cerebral palsy (age two or older).
How Dysport works:
Dysport is a toxin produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. It functions by preventing your muscles from contracting. It accomplishes this by inhibiting the release of a chemical that functions as a bridge between nerves and muscles, causing the muscles to contract. This aids in the reduction of spasms, which are abnormal muscle contractions.
